I am Kenya A. Farris (Kenafar), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) based in North Texas. As your Therapist, I am committed to supporting individuals and couples manage stress, emotional challenges, and life transitions develop resilience and obtain overall mental health wellness.
My passion as a Therapist was emerged from a need of a therapist to help me cope with the negative impacts from my challenging experiences in, (i.e. parenting, relationship conflicts, job dissatisfaction, high stress levels, and major health concerns). To my surprise there were limited options of therapists that could relate to my journey. I enjoy helping individuals move from dynsfunction to well-balanced lifestyles. My greatest strengths are the ability to listen, empathize, strategize and pivot. I embrace many different perspectives and objectively help others determine their own next steps for appropriate resolutions is one of my strongest skills.
My mission is to provide insight to emotion and feelings, offer alternative coping skills and behavioral responses, and support enhancing decisions that are already working.
